Best Métro App for Paris

"Paris Metro by Zuti" is an app that one can come to love. It is an app that is carefully crafted by listening to the users, and then polished with attention to detail. I live in the middle of Paris most of the year, and Ive tried most métro apps for Paris for iPhones. "Paris Metro by Zuti" stands out from the rest, because the newest version now gives you the most accurate route to the destination, or a rather, the route that those of us who live in Paris might prefer. (If you dont like the route that the app gives you, or if you need to change the route because one of the trains is not running; you can get alternative routes by changing "Route Option" and/or "Transfer Time".) "Paris Metro by Zuti" now also has a very good approximation of the greyed out map that tells you where you are going with a delightful animation of the métro that runs on the map without confusing you with all the details of the city. If you touch the grey map, it then lights up with full pastel colors, which is a pleasingly artistic touch that you dont often find in apps of this sort. If you then like to see the details of the city, you can quickly switch to the real map that gives you an option to overlay the satellite images of the city with GPS to locate where exactly you are. (This requires an internet connection, but then if you are after a map, you probably have one of the numerous off-line maps that does not require any connection already in your phone. If you dont have one, you should.) "Take me home" button of "Paris Metro by Zuti" is another wonderful touch, because I love to stroll in Paris and get lost. But then when I do feel like going back home, all I have to do is to push this button, and I will immediately know where the nearest métro is, and how to get back home without entering another station into the app. Of course, there is always a space for improvement. There is a simple button on "Sorties Métro," which is another app, which would give you an alternative route just by hitting it without changing any setting at the preference. If there is such a button on "Paris Metro by Zuti," that would come in handy from time to time, because métro lines in Paris stop running all the time. But "Sorties Métro" does not have any map or GPS capability, so it makes me claustrophobic whenever I use it, and I would not recommend it to anyone. All in all, "Paris Metro by Zuti" is absolutely the best métro app for Paris Ive ever tested, and Ive tested almost all the métro apps I could find at iTunes Store.

Awesome App!

Used this on a recent trip to Paris. Easier to use than a metro map and so helpful in figuring out the best routes from one place to another. Can switch to city map from metro map to help find names of metro stations close to where you want to go. Highly recommend. Used it more than any other app I got to help navigate Paris.

Out of date!

Doesnt reflect changed in summer 2013, eg, RER B is not operating requiring multiple detour trains.

Perfect!!!

Just got back from six days in Paris in April 2014. Used this app on 15 different metro rides. Visited everything. Perfect every time.

Worked well!

Spent 3 days in Paris and used this app extensively. Worked reliably well. April, 2015
